A few notations on the day ahead

I’m up before the sun on weekdays. Our days start quite early, as many do. I can tell by the traffic on the roads. Just finished a good Terry McMillan book, Who Asked You? I thought about what it meant to watch your children grow up and not follow a healthy path you hoped for them. At the end of the day, you do your best to set them up for success but their life choices are their own.

Today I hope to paint. My teacher taught me about a medium called liquin and I’d like to try out my new bottle of it. I got one for Amelia as well. Gracie just turned in an assignment on the Flint Michigan water crisis. It’s an assignment in preparation for a trip to the National Museum of Civil and Human Rights.

The birds have been up with me. They are loud and boisterous as they gather their breakfast. My little dog is insistent on domineering the fox that lives in our woods. I wish he would understand it’s a fight he’d lose, but he believes the woods are his domain. Likkle but talewah, as they would say in Jamaica. Little but tough and strong.

I have calendula and milkweed to sow. I need to get to it. The milkweed for monarchs and the calendula for us. It helps our skin. I plan to put it in the oils I make.

Wishing you a blessed day. Keeping the heart at peace will make any day blessed. I hope the worries and strife in your life wash away and leave you free of burden. Peace and love on this beautiful day.
