The gentle hum of peace.

The beauty of life is to live it. Thoroughly. Fully. Presently.  We face so many trials trying to keep life in our little bodies. There’s sickness, war, famine, desolation. There’s so much strife that we must take pause and care for the suffering. To live in peace is a constant hum that if we are blessed and lucky, we get to have that security permeate and strengthen around us.  Peace, as I’ve said before, takes work. And in some philosophies, there is no peace without war. The constant disruption is there, but it is up to us to try to remedy those warmongering hearts with dialogue and love. The warring heart suffers a sickness of mind and spirit. The idea that bravery comes of starting wars doesn’t seem right. Bravery is to stand up for what’s right, while fighting for peace. But there’s that word, fight. If fighting for peace is just, then we must understand that some people will mistake war as something necessary for humanity. I think we can evolve above that. I think the majority of human life wants to live in peace. By that I mean, acknowledging the rights of each human being to clean water, food, shelter and education. Communities grow healthier when people have the basics.  When the plants and animals around us have their needs met as well and we live sharing space, then we grow to be a healthier planet.  Habitats for humans and animals can coexist. Water can be cleaned for all to drink. It takes each one teaching one. Also each one respecting one. To the girls around the world hoping to get an education, knowing it is their way out of poverty, I pray for them. For the young boys that see more in learning than fighting, I pray that they have the courage to live all their days taking the higher road and putting down war toys. Many who have known war are so happy to know peace if they live to see the day. They put down their guns and some even ask for reconciliation.  But I am also not ignorant of the fact that defending yourself against an unjust war will test the faith and ability of anyone fighting for their peace. Peace is not free. Sometimes you have to trouble the water, face the storm to get to the other side of war, peace. For those who are in war zones today, I pray for you. I hope your battle ends soon and that peace comes to you. For those without clean water, shelter or food, I pray you get resources soon. For those migrating, I pray for safe passage to your destination. We help where we can and we open our hearts to those suffering.
