Early riser this morning, New Beginning
I've been warming up to writing regularly, but now my littlest one is a big girl off to pre-K, rising this stay-at-home mommy from the writing ashes. I hope you are ready. Harlem Mama was a personal motherhood journey documenting the ups and downs of parenting from my perspective. I plan to do as I always have with my blogs, but pod-casting is coming soon.
What has been apparent on this blog is that I am part Buddhist. But what has not been clear to a lot of people is that my Bible has been my guide beside my bed since I was 13. I study many religions, and I debate starting a doctoral program at the Emory Candler School of Theology. This week, after handing my 7 year old her first real Bible with no pictures, my goal is to teach her Psalms 23.
A psalm of David.
1 The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing.
2 He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters,
3 he refreshes my soul. He guides me along the right paths for his name’s sake.
4 Even though I walk through the darkest valley,[a] I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.
5 You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.
6 Surely your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
